I am very honored to share in this post the release of a new book of poetry and prose, “The High Valley”, by my good friend, Roger Buss. As you will find when you read this book, to say that Roger has a way with words is an understatement. There are times when I am reading his writing that I feel I’m being touched by the Gods, as if the author has a privileged conduit to the infinite wisdom of the universe, and I’m being invited to share. The 144 poems and writings that comprise this book deal with many aspects of life; some humorous, some intensely personal, some reflecting the author’s respect and hope for mankind, and his recognition of the spiritual nature common to us all. The different subjects notwithstanding, they all share Roger’s unique, clever and aesthetic style; so much so, that if the definition of art, as a famous philosopher once noted, is “the quality of communication,” then I can assure you that in buying and reading “The High Valley,” you are in for an exalted experience.
